In Southeast Asia, the temperatures are dipping lower at night and yet many don’t have warm sweaters or shoes to keep them warm. In the cold morning air, the poor only wear thin clothes and many of them have cracked skin due to the cold.
James 2:14-17 says, “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
As you put on your warm jacket, mitts and toques, please say a prayer for those who are in need of warm clothing, both here and around the world. Be open to who God places on your heart and respond. Pray that God will move His people in SE Asia who can help by providing money for new clothes for those near them. We serve a God of abundance so let’s watch and pray what He will do this Christmas in Canada and Southeast Asia.
