A Spacious Place

A year after Covid hit, Myanmar also faced a coup. Eight months after this, many have asked how our ministry is doing. In short, they are thriving, thanks to your prayers.

It is true that we constantly pray for their safety, open lines of communication, and ways to get funding to them. We also praise God for the testimony they are to us!

Steve* and April,* our leaders, are using this time with no school to teach the children English and the Bible. The older teens are also practising giving sermons, fanning into flames their gifts of evangelism. In addition to this, out of their “abundance,” they share rice and staples with neighbours who have nothing.

During this time, I am reminded of the verses in Psalms.

Psalm 4:1 “Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.”

Then Psalm 18:19 says, “He brought me out to a spacious place; he rescued me because he delights in me.”

“Give me relief” literally means “make a spacious place for me.” “Spacious place” also refers to giving me relief, delivering, setting free. Lord, we pray that Steve and April and their 25 children can continue to roam unconfined by threats and danger that threaten to hem them in.

God is in the business of rescuing and providing spacious places for our ministries. Join us in praising God for His faithfulness and love!
