Encountering the Constant Love of the Father

This is Violet, Rob & Judy’s sweet neice. She brought so much fun and joy to our kids in refuge as she led endless games and fun. She was always serving and going the extra mile as she baked with the kids and helped with many other endless jobs behind the scenes.

“Each moment of this trip brought emphasis on the never ending and constant love of our Father. I could constantly hear “He is our healer” this encouraged me to see that it was about the praise we owe him for fulfilling each and every prayer. He filled this trip with miracles in my life and in the sight of watching these kids close their eyes and praise the father that they know love them so deeply. God’s living spirit was in the depths of their hearts and souls. Out of the multitude of things happening, the smiles I was able to share with the kids who do not speak English was the biggest impact for me. The connection I felt while holding, laughing, hugging or playing with them brought me so much peace and gratitude. The love God has given me I could pour out on them even if it was only for a moment.

God’s joy and hope shines a bright light upon the mountain in front of us. He is our blessed assurance and we can go at peace knowing that He stops at nothing for his children who belong in his kingdom! Amen!”

Joy in the Going!

Joy in the Going!

This is Meagan, one of our GNI board members. She was Jesus’ spark of contagious joy and laughter, mixed with a sensitive discerning heart.

“When people ask me how my trip to Thailand was, I have been finding it hard to express the full extent of all the trip entailed. Meeting J* and A* who run Families of Blessing and their kids was incredibly impactful. They all have such hearts to know and follow Jesus. I connected with them emotionally in a way that I didn’t expect which has challenged me to evaluate our ministry with them in a new way.
Spending time in worship with Uncountable Grace was a memory I won’t soon forget – their hands were raised in worship and eyes closed, in complete oblivion of everything around them, only focused on Jesus. Knowing these kids and families have such difficult circumstances and yet are so full of praise really challenged me coming back to Canada. Am I teaching my kids and helping them see who Jesus IS – not just theology but also a personal relationship. Am I so focused on Jesus that He impacts and affects every aspect of my life?”

I Am Not a Zero!

This young girl and her brother live in a Moken Sea Gypsy village in south-western Thailand.  Her people have been repressed for generations.  They don’t have rights that normal Thai citizens have, such as voting or serving in any position of political power.  When they are issued ID cards, they get a string of zeros.  However, in God’s sight, she is learning that she is precious and deeply loved.  “For God so loved the world” (including her) “that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him (including these children) should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV). There are no zeroes in God’s sight.

Galatians 3:26-28 (NLT) “For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Our partner, Pia, travels to this village situated on an island in Ranong Province.  Before the Indian Ocean Tsunami (Dec 26, 2004), there were no known believers in Jesus in this tribe. Since then, Christian workers have helped the Moken people learn about God’s love.   Pia follows up on their work and brings true heart love to them.  It is beautiful to watch this Thai woman reach out across cultures to teach these beautiful people the truth about how God sees them.  They will never be “zeros” in God’s eyes.

BAGS OF RICE SENT WITH LOVE

RESCUED CHILD GIVES UNSELFISHLY

Niki* (name changed for protection) is a quite and beautiful 13-year-old girl who once had to dig for roots and beg on the side of the road to survive.  She was at high-risk for being exploited or trafficked. S&A reported that terrorism caused her family to flee far away from their village of origin. There was gunfire all around.  When S&A learned about Niki’s plight, with her parents permission, they invited her and her younger sister to live with them in their home. Niki* is not an orphan in the true sense of the word; however, her parents struggle with heavy drug-addiction and poverty in this volatile area of Shan State and were unable to adequately provide for their children.   Niki*, who had never gone to school prior to living with S&A, proved herself to be such a good learner that she won awards in school.  Most important of all, over the past 5 years living with S&A, she has come to know Jesus personally and about God’s tremendous love for her.

Recently, Niki’s* mom gave birth to twin girls.  These babies, too, could be at high risk.  What does Niki* do to help? She saves a major part of her hard-earned allowance to send bags of rice back home to her family to help them survive. This beautiful and selfless act of care shows the type of compassion we read about in Matthew 25:35.  We are called to live out our faith and Niki,* under S&A’s care, has learned how to do this very well.  Praise God for this beautiful example!
